WHAT WE BELIEVE

WE BELIEVE THAT GOD’S WORD IS CLEARLY FOR EVERYONE WHO WILL RECEIVE ITS TEACHINGS

"We are founded, first and foremost, upon the belief that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God from beginning to end, and that there are no private interpretations."

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The following are our core beliefs and doctrines and are based wholly upon the authority of the holy scriptures:

WE BELIEVE IN THE SAVING GOSPEL

The Gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel (2 Thessalonians 1:8; 1 Peter 4:17) by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection) (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4).

WE BELIEVE IN THE GREAT COMMISSION

and seek to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with love, mercy, and compassion. (Ephesians 4:14-16)

WE BELIEVE THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD

Deuteronomy 6:4. He is the creator of heaven and earth, and of all living beings. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator), as the Son (Savior), and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling Spirit). (John 1:1-14)

WE BELIEVE THAT EVERYONE HAS SINNED AND NEEDS SALVATION

Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9).

WE BELIEVE IN WATER BAPTISM

We believe in baptism by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. Through baptism we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Romans 6:3-6; Colossians 2:11-14; Acts 2:38; Acts 19:3-5).

WE BELIEVE IN THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues, as the Spirit gives the ability. (Acts 2:4) (Mark 16:17) (Acts 10:46) We believe in the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He ministers to His people through tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy; words of knowledge and wisdom, discerning of spirits, faith, working of miracles, healing and helps (Mark 16:15-18; Acts 5:16; 2 Corinthians 12:1-11).

WE BELIEVE IN DIVINE HEALING

James 5:14-15 presents God's plan for divine healing: "Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up." Laying on of hands and anointing with oil usually accompany prayer for healing, in accordance with God's Word and to focus faith. Through God's power, Stephen, Peter (Acts 9:36-42), Paul (Acts 19:11-12), and Phillip (Acts 6:8; 8:7) performed many miracles of healing. Acts 5:16 states, "There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one."

WE BELIEVE IN CHRISTIAN LIFESTYLE

As Christians we are to love God and others. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God joyfully. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, are for the church today (Mark 12:28-31; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Corinthians 12:8-10).

WE BELIEVE IN ETERNITY

Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His church. In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11 15).

In the presence of the Lord, there is liberty to express our love to Him by freely worshipping Him. You will find believers lifting and clapping their hands, worshipping in dance, or possibly using other forms of expressive worship. These are all individual expressions of a heart-felt love for Christ Jesus.

Take a few moments to read the Scripture references below to give you a better understanding of Biblical worship.

WE RAISE OUR HANDS

because 1 Timothy 2:8 says, "I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands," and, "Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord." (Psalm 134:2)

WE CLAP OUR HANDS

because Psalm 47:1 says, "O clap your hands, all ye people."

WE SING AND PLAY MUSIC

because Ephesians 5:19 says to worship "in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord."

WE WORSHIP WITH A JOYFUL NOISE

because Psalm 66:1 says, "Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands."

WE PRAY ALOUD

because the early church "lifted up their voice to God with one accord" in prayer (Acts 4:24).

WE PLAY MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS

because in the Bible we read, "...And all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments..." (II Samuel 6:5) and Psalm 150 says to praise God with musical instruments.

WE DANCE IN THE SPIRIT

because Psalm 149:3 says, "Let them praise his name in the dance."

WE PRAY IN THE SPIRIT

because in the Bible we read, "...I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also." (I Corinthians 14:15)

WE INCLUDE TESTIMONIALS, TEACHING, PREACHING, AND SPIRITUAL GIFTS

because 1 Corinthians 14:26 says, "Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation" (NKJV).
